My name is Annabel and I am a Clinical Social Worker in Alberta. I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary - BA Honours in Sociology in 2004. I also had an interest in Primatology and was able to attend a field school in Belize studying Howler Monkeys in the rainforest.
I earned my Masters Degree from the University of Toronto in 2009. Afterwards, I worked at St Michaels Hospital in the department of Trauma and Neurosurgery before returning to Calgary in 2011. I have worked for Alberta Health Services (now Recovery Alberta) since 2011. My experience has been with critical illness working on an inpatient unit of Neurosurgery and Neurology. Currently I work in mental health and have found this career very rewarding.
What I have learned is this: Life can be challenging. Whether it’s anxiety, stress, self-doubt, stresses or old wounds that seem to follow you around, it can feel overwhelming. But you don’t have to face it alone.
I have specialized training in ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), sex therapy, DBT, CBT, ACT and grief therapy. Recently completed Gottman Couples Therapy Training. I believe we can draw upon any of these methods to improve areas in your life that are challenging you right now.
